Welcome AYO Alumni
More than two-thirds of current professional orchestral musicians across Australia have been a part of the Australian Youth Orchestra's programs. Many AYO musicians are members of some of the world’s finest orchestras and ensembles in Europe and America. We also celebrate the achievements of AYO alumni who have pursued careers outside of the music profession.
2007 marked the 50th anniversary of the first Australian Youth Orchestra ever assembled. We want to hear from as many alumni as possible to find out what you are doing now and how we can contact you. We would also like to know what direction your career has taken since you were involved with the AYO or National Music Camp.
The Alumni Program celebrates the Australian Youth Orchestra’s rich history, its contribution to Australia’s musical life, and the achievements of thousands of Australian musicians. Through this program our aim is to:
- Strengthen the AYO’s network in Australia and overseas
- Record the achievements of past participants of any AYO program and track the future careers of current and recent participants
- Promote the work of the AYO in Australia and abroad through ambassadors from within the alumni
- Create a volunteer network to implement alumni projects and events
